Library Databases

Library Databases: Why use the library's databases instead of Google?

Information on the Internet can be reputable and accurate, or because anyone can post Web pages, it can also be inaccurate or misleading.  It is always important to evaluate what you find on the Web. For help with this, please see Evaluating Web sites.  The library subscribes to certain databases that charge a fee to protect their copyrighted information.  The information in these databases is already authoritative and from reputable sources.  With one search the databases access hundreds of sources, such as newspapers and magazines.  The full-text of the article can then be viewed.

If you need help in using these resources, please see any of the library staff and we will be pleased to help you.  LCC staff and students, please come to the library to obtain the passwords.
