Advanced Placement

Many American and Canadian universities will award course credit or exemptions to successful Advanced placement (AP) students for their university entry year, allowing students to progress more quickly through their programmes of study.

Due to the curricular requirements of the Quebec Ministère de l’education, du loisir et du sport, LCC is limited in the number of Advanced Placement courses we can offer. Officially, we have four designated AP courses: AB Calculus, BC Calculus, US History and Economics. Students taking these courses are NOT required to take the AP exam.

Students may choose to write an AP exam in any subject, and LCC provides test preparation for the following subjects:  Chemistry, Physics, Biology, French, Spanish, English, Psychology and European History.

AP Summary:  1993-2008

 Number of Candidates  758
 Number of Grades Reported  913
 Number of AP Scholars  74
Number of AP Scholars with Honour  36
Number of AP Scholars with Distinction  23
