About Charles Benaroya
Charles Benaroya is the Principal Trombone with the Canadian Opera Company Orchestra. Previously, he held the position of Second Trombone with the Orchestre symphonique de Québec. As one of Canada`s most in-demand trombonists, Charles has performed with many of the country's best musical ensembles, including the Montreal and Toronto Symphony Orchestras, the National Arts Centre Orchestra, Symphony Nova Scotia, the Hannaford Street Silver Band and Capital Brass Works. He can be heard on the Toronto Symphony Orchestra’s recording of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherezade and the Orchestre symphonique de Québec's recording of Mendelssohn's Reformation Symphony. He is also a founding member of the Reverb Brass Quintet, a group dedicated to broadening the brass quintet repertoire by commissioning and performing new Canadian and international works.

Charles graduated from Lower Canada College in 2003, received a Bachelor of Music degree from McGill University and also studied at The Glenn Gould School of The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. He studied trombone with Trevor Dix, James Box, David Martin, and Gordon Wolfe.
