Need-Based Awards
We believe that deserving students should have access to an LCC education. As a result, we rely upon generous donations to provide financial awards to students in grades 7 – 12 that have demonstrated need.
The process for granting need-based awards is thorough and confidential. LCC is part of a network of schools affiliated with an arms-length organization called Financial Aid for Canadian Students (FACS) that provides a confidential analysis of a family’s financial ability to contribute toward the school’s tuition fees. A committee then uses the FACS analysis to consider all requests. The awards are considered grants (not loans), which are applied toward tuition fees. Since personal financial situations may vary from year to year, FACS applications are made on an annual basis.
Merit-Based Awards
LCC is pleased to offer a variety of merit-based awards to students entering grades 7–12. These awards have been established through private donations and by the school to recognize student achievements in academics, citizenship, leadership, arts, and athletics. The awards are applied toward tuition fees.
Last year we awarded approximately $900,000 in financial awards to almost 16% of our student population.
