University Advising

The Pre-U Office is committed to providing students with all the necessary tools to prepare them for applying to university:

  • developing a well-organized plan
  • assisting in researching potential university destinations
  • facilitating self-evaluation
  • providing discussion about programmes of study that meet the unique needs of each student

The role of the university advisor is to assist students and parents in navigating the world of university admission. The University Advisor’s Office acts as the primary resource for providing opportunities for students to build their knowledge base about universities and programmes so that they are well-positioned to make personal choices.

Students have considerable access to the university advisor for issues related to university selection and admission. The university advisor:

  • helps guide students in their Pre-U course selection
  • keeps track of academic progress throughout the year
  • provides information on universities and university programmes
  • helps students develop a personal timeline for university planning and preparation
  • assists in completing university applications

Students are encouraged, and expected, to take vested personal interest and action in their pursuit of higher education.  The university advisor and Pre-U faculty are facilitators of the student’s exploration and journey into the future. Our mission is to help develop their road into adulthood and independence.
