Outstanding teachers make LCC what it is. With an unwavering dedication to their craft, expertise in a variety of domains, and real-world experience, they ensure a rich and rewarding student experience.
At the heart of the LCC experience is the conviction that learning occurs both inside and outside of the classroom. Regardless of grade level or the context in which teaching and learning occur, three elements guarantee the success of our faculty:
Teachers are dedicated to their craft, possess individual talents and skills, demonstrate sound judgment and, most importantly, are committed to continuous improvement that goes beyond the minimum professional standards.
LCC values the contribution of each faculty member to the success of the school. Our teachers adhere to high standards of collegiality in their daily interactions with all members of the LCC community.
A Sense of Community
A collaborative spirit and sense of personal responsibility among faculty are essential to the success of the school. We build a supportive learning community to harness the intellectual and creative energies of our teachers, which ultimately improve classroom practice.
Our teachers are required to pursue professional development activities in order to enhance their teaching skills and acquire new knowledge.
Every year, LCC teachers accumulate hundreds of hours of professional development training at conferences and workshops all over North America.
Our Faculty Growth Program allows our teachers to define their own professional objectives, within the parameters established by the pedagogical objectives of the school, and to reflect on the progress they have made in reaching these goals by the end of each year.
The Professional Learning Communities, introduced in 2013, give teachers the opportunity to collaborate in teams in order to share teaching objectives.
