English as a Second Language (ESL)

International students applying to grades 7-12 must demonstrate their English language proficiency by completing one of the following tests as part of the admissions process:

  • TOEFL: 90 for iBT TOEFL, 500 for paper-based TOEFL

French as a Second Language

International students who do not have a foundation in French have unique learning needs when they come to LCC. To help them successfully bridge the language gap, we are pleased to offer special language acquisition courses. These classes vary according to point of entry to the school and may involve an additional cost.

Please contact the Admissions Office for further details.

We recognize that the needs of our international students may extend beyond school hours. Having a safe, homey, and comfortable place to live is essential. We have partnered with Canada Homestay Network, an organization that is committed to matching international students with a homestay experience.

Please contact the Admissions Office for more information about this program.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and Grade 12 Options

For international families unfamiliar with the CEGEP (Collège d'enseignement général et professionnel) system, LCC offers two post-secondary options: The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the one-year Pre-U/Grade 12 program. Recognized by universities worldwide, these two options provide students with an alternative to the two year CEGEP system that is in line with the North American school system.
