Emily Litvack ’03, Pre-U’ 04 and Élan Martin-Prashad ’21 met through LCC’s Alumni network. After Élan conceived the Sprouts Platform, an online website that connects people to collaborate on environmental projects, she started looking for ways to actualize her idea.
First, she contacted her former LCC science teacher, Chris Olive, who recommended contacting LCC’s alumni office. They connected Élan with Emily, Co-Founder and Chief Education Officer of Genvironment, an inclusive environmental education organization based in Ottawa. After learning more about Sprouts, Emily offered Élan an internship at Genvironment!
As part of her work, Élan is building the Sprouts pilot program, scheduled to launch in early January and is also involved in other development and marketing initiatives with the organization. Emily is thrilled to have such a hardworking, passionate and innovative changemaker interning at Genvironment, and to be mentoring a fellow LCC alum.
