Grade 9 Student Publishes Debut Fantasy Novel

Grade 9 student Léa '29 has published her debut fantasy novel, The Lost Islands, bringing her imagination and passion for storytelling to readers.

The novel follows Rena, a 13-year-old girl who has always felt like an outsider. When mysterious powers begin to surface, Rena is drawn toward a hidden world on the other side of the galaxy, where she must uncover the truth about her origins and discover the courage to embrace what makes her different.

Through Rena’s journey, Léa explores themes of identity, confidence, self-discovery, and the challenges of growing up. Her story speaks to anyone who has ever felt out of place and reminds readers that being different can be a source of strength.

Léa has also submitted her novel to the UK Storyteller Award and is excited to share her work with the LCC community.

Congratulations, Léa, on this wonderful achievement!
